Title: Gen 1/2 U-joints nascar style

My experience is that only the Spicer Ujoints are strong enough to handle Viper competiton.  I spent a lot of time paying for Ujoint replacements each event and every 5000 miles with the no name brands.  Chrysler sells the best although they are pricey.  I paid $204 for 1 ujoint.  Spicer 5 - 1350X (newest number) cost me $27.  Only $5 more than the junk "SuperStrength" that would fail each high speed run.  Thanks to John Vittone for this info.

These U-joints are extreme strength, design with the center holes only being there as a grese cavity.  The bearing cups contain fiber washers in the ends.  The U-joints come pre packed with a measured amount of grease.  They have teflon washer/seals that collapse upon installation creating a firm seal.  The Viper Store calls these Nascar U-joints and sells them.

Ted, are these the same U-Joints that fit in the axles, or is the 1350 just for the driveshaft?

Axle shafts, Driveshafts being aluminium should use a different U Joint that uses a bearing cup material that doesn't corrode to the aluminium.  I threw away all my old UJoints and installed these.  It's been since Race the Base since I replaced any Ujoints.  I blew 2 Ujoints at that event from going 275 and 295mph.  I've gone 190mph since and no Ujoint problems at all.  Driveshaft Ujoints are still the factory replacement (spicer 1350-Xs).

Gen 2 Lower A arm bushings are part number is a Moog K7416 (FB406 cross reference)
