I have .89 and .75 (stock 5th gear ratio for my 6th) gear ratios.  Halfmile gear set and they're cyro polished etc.  The trans sounds different than stock so my gears must be a stronger cut.  Guy here has the same issue as Sheldon with his 5th gear grinding in his supercharged Challenger.  The flamed Viper broke his 5th gear - which is the weak spot in the trans.  I bought the "other set of high gears for the tranny to run the mile and longer events.  GForce advised me that although these gears are the only other set (.8 and .54) available for my trans they are not cyropolished etc.

Car is extremely fast on pumpgas and therefor dangerous when throttling it because of the lack of traction.  It hooks when I shift into third, but then the power goes up and the traction goes away.  My Boost was 12psi.  Turn it up is necessary, of course, ... as I'm sure you know  :idk:

The 750whp Paxton Viper went through in 5th with 3.55 rear gears and 27" tall tires.  Nitrous would deaily get him a brakeout time I'm sure

Here's a Father and Son, from Vancouver, BC, in a Aston Martin Vanquish.  Paul and Jason.

The 500hp cars (Shelby, Challenger, SRT, Camaro SS) seemed to be about 150-160mph.  A mustang GT (4.7L) with a Kenny Bell blower kit was going 144mph.  The RED Chrome Mustang had a Procharger kit with many modifications and was going 177mph all Sat.  Sunday afternoon he upped his rev limit and went 182mph.  That car will be in this month's 5L magazine. 8)

Monster custom built hood of Race Viper covers the plumbing to the monster turbos on top of the engine in front of the windshield.  This car ran 216mph at 9psi after I ran 215mph at 12psi.

I expect that this car will be in Car and Driver magazine next month.  They did shoots of the Veyron, this Viper and Big Red Camaro.

Chip was from Texas.  His perfect looking Ford GT had a Hennessey TT kit on it and the engine had been shipped to be rebuilt in Michigan after a rockerarm broke, losing all the needle bearings through the engine.  A stock rebuild was $24,000.  With a FGT it's not so much remove the engine as it is 'remove the car from around the engine.'  Definitely not a cheap car to work on.  Chip was expecting 222mph and I believe he ran that speed at the Texas Mile.  The Texas mile is about Sea Level and Mojave was 'corrected' to 4,200' of altitude.  Less atmospheric density causes car to go slower at higher altitudes.  A 'corrected' altitude is the measurement of atmospheric density, not the actual height above sea level.

It was unfortunate when Chip's car developed a big smoking issue and he stated that it did have a problem.  There was nothing leaking from his car ...

:) I figured that most are familiar with Big Red Camaro, but here's a picture I shot while Car and Driver magazine was lining up cars and doing their photoshoot of the car.  RJ Gottlieb parked his trailer close to mine so I wasn't getting in the way.  Lent him my floor jack when he was doing a Lenco tranny change.  Big Red came with a crew and they spent most of the weekend working on the car.  RJ said that he wasn't decided if he was going to the Nevada Open Road Chalenge next week of not yet.  They ran 217.8 right out of the trailer and 218.3 soon after that.  They 'tinkered' with gear ratios and tannys over the weekend, but 218.3 was their best.  Good enough to tie for fastest run of the weekend.

As you can see written on his car he has a website.

Update on the status of the Mojave Mile after this event ...

http://www.mkmracing.com/mmboard/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=159

Mojave Mile will be the only Autosports event held at the Spaceport.  The airport authorities thought the event was excellent and they felt the safety precautions were great.

:D  I'm not a golpher, but we're here staying at the in-laws Country Club Golf course house for a couple days.

Tried the pool down at the Clubhouse and we've got alternate transport ...

Wife said, "Oh that's quiet."  I said, "Oh that's slow."

   No fooling you Phil!

If it was up to me I'd be wearing Blue jeans and cowboy/Engineer Boots,  :D  Wife even insisted that I wear sandals twice a year.

We went to the pool (95F and 105F outside temp)  and I got to meet Bermice ...   And a Christian Heavy Metal singer.  They said they LOVE Canadians.  This is a "Snow Bird" community being a 'gated' calif golf course community that you have to be 55+ to live here.  They came around today and told me to move my car trailer off the property completely, but wife's cousin got us OK'd for another day or so.  90% of the modular homes around us are Canadians and they've all gone back to Canada because the snow is melted.  Went up the Mountain tramway today.  From below sea level to 8,400' 20 miles from here,

Palm Springs in all it's glorious smog ...  110F in the Valley

:D  I was bragging up PartsRack.com to some of the guys there and telling them that Jon helped me to make the race 2,000miles from my home.

Interesting is that this 2006 stock SRT10 Viper went 162mph in the standing mile

FGT again ...

I was responding to a friend and was wondering ...  If someone buys the required $700+ worth of safety clothing and rides my passenger seat - do they get to join the 200mph club?

I got a note from Dan Cragin.  Harry's '06 Paxton Viper was built by DC Performance and Dan assures me that Harry's Viper wouldn't need much to break into the 200mph club.  On another note DC Performance will be re-opening soon.  Dan said he's going to run a smaller shop - for now anyway.

Twin's TT GTS race car.  Don't think any of this car is stock ...  Nice looking work.

Apparently he had the highest speed record at the Mojave Mile until a Ford GT beat him by 1mph.  He was 225mph and lost out.  Now the record is 226 or so.

I'm lined up for a run on Street tires
