Here's a pic that Darryl Weflen sent me of himself and Greg at the Mojave Magnum (1.5mi) event.

His freshly Turbo'd and Nitrous'd R6 Yamaha engine powered GoKart was too much for the the clutch and he didn't get any decent runs this time.

His GTS has a caliper that was dragging and he didn't get any decent runs with it either...

Doesn't seem that anyone was waiting for this but here is the link to Car and Driver's story that brought the Veyron GS to the Mojave Mile last year.

http://www.caranddriver.com/features/200-mph-club-scorching-the-mojave-mile-in-a-bugatti-veyron-grand-sport-feature

There is also a "Driver's education" school that will get you seat time up to 200mph for only $5000 for the 8 hour school.

My comment added to the bottom of Car and Driver -

"I spanked the Veyron, the Camaro and the 1080whp FGT. Matter of fact - Big Red Camaro went 218.3mph as did the Twins Motorpsort Viper GTS. My STREET Viper was 3rd, running 215mph ... with my airconditioning on. My '99 VIPER was the FASTEST STREETCAR there!!! When going fast, the $95000 Viper easily eats Bugattis!"

Ted Hlokoff

That would mean that someone could buy a slower Veyron or 20 of my Streetcar Vipers ...

Ted , thanks for posting the pic of our GoKart , we actually ran its best speed at that event 157.7 mph and so far that is a record for wheel driven Karts at any event !
The Viper didn't fare as well , with a stuck caliper causing it to pull left and we could not push it on flat pavement when getting ready to load up and would not roll down the trailer ramp when we got home the problem has since been fixed and we are now preparing to head to Bonneville salt flats in Sept!

Newest high speed record is Mark Capener's 1500whp Underground Racing built Lamborghini Supperleggara.  232mph last year.  Mark ran a 230mph at Ely, Nv at this spring's Nevada Open Road Rally/SSCC.  He set the 230mph record at Ely in his new standard trans Murcielago 1500whp TT.

At this time Mark said that he has sent his RSI TT SRT out "for repairs"  I wouldn't be surprised if that car comes back making 1800whp.  Unlimited money really makes a difference ...
