We missed you guys.  No trucks entered.  Things got kinda messed up the last day, but we have fun no matter what we do.

I have to say that if you ever had an interest in high end cars this was the second opportunity that you missed to see about 50 exotics in one place.  No Veyrons there and I don't know why that is.  Many of these guys having several multimillion dollar cars they obviously could afford a Veyron if that was what they wanted.  When I beat the Veyron SS at the Mojave Mile they are definitely extremely fast for stock.

The Ford GT has the largest TS blower ever installed on any car and was expected to be the fastest there, but Dom's Supra beat it and the FGT came in second fastest.  Dom was using and advanced ECU that was comparable to a Pectel except much newer technology and that may have been the issue?  The Blower was very large (4.0L Whipple).  His Supra went 380kph/235.6mph on a solitary run.  The FGT managed a 367kph/227.5mph top speed which was second fastest recorded.

Results are up.  Although I wasn't 5th fastest in the event ...  I finished 2nd in the Supercar Modified Class!!!   :D

The results say I was only 283.8kph/176.5mph in the standing mile and 314.6kph/195.1mph in the Ultimate Speed Challenge.

A touch slower than I'd figured and was told but I must have done excellent in the Time Attack and put on a good show for the Drifting competition?

Another Podium Finish for the Roe Racing/Macedo engined Viper GTS!  I think that if I don't sell this Viper soon, I'll be needing a bigger trophy wall.

:2thumbsup: Dodge Viper kicks ass again!

I lost first place to a modified GTR.

Thanks Steve.

I actually did better than I expected.  I thought that my speed was gonna put me close to the podium.  Instead it was my overall skills that put me ON the podium.

That makes every competition I've entered in the last 3-5 years a Podium finish!  I couldn't have done it without help from my buddy/navigator (TNT) and this event I wouldn't have attended except for Doug (Willowbrook Chrysler) sponsoring my entry fee.     JonB (partsRack) really helped me with the Mojave Mile event   It's great having friends.

I was told that there will be an awards dinner in the near future.  Knowing Zahir better now I am certain that it'll be spectacular.  I attended the last awards banquet and there wasn't really any awards because the last event was just a 1.8 mile speed run and the Jet races.  This time there was classes and mile, 2 mile, Time Attack and the optional Drift competition.  A Burnout/donut contest was also an optional event (for extra points) and I had a set of 2001 Viper front tires ready to go for that event, but the Base felt that the rubber could possibly build up and cause an issue on their Tarmac so that event was cancelled at the last minute.

When I was signing up for this event I saw that they were looking for sponsors for many things.  Some were for the awards and I think I saw that first place was a $5000 value for the prizes.  I didn't pay much attention and don't remember but think that second was a $2500-3000 value with 3rd being $1000.  Values, not cash.  Being the modified supercar class I would expect tuner awards?  Ronnie wouldn't have sponosred a set of Stiker R heads by any chance???  ...

This Viper is for sale.  Leslie can teach driving skills.  Anybody could do it  :idk:  Leslie instructs high speed driving - gonna have to ask if she instructs drifting as well.

CBCTER on Star Choice just advertised Rick Mercer report from Cold Lake, Alberta next Tues.  Have to watch to see my car.  Hi screw covered Dom's Supra with cameras before he ran the CF-18 race ... which Dom paid $6,000 to charity for the privledge.

I spoke with Rick Mercer for a bit while he was beside my car at Dom's doing the interview ...  :2thumbsup:

Rick Mercer's TV show was mostly him in the CF18 and him in a Ferrari Italia 458 with Roland (Oreca driver of original GTSR cars mid nineties) as instructor.

A few shots of some of the exotics in between and a vid of the 382kph Supra of Dom's.  Disappointing.

Race the Base fb site says, "The "Top Gun" and the top three competitors in each class will receive beautiful acrylic/alloy sculptural trophies!"  I own a 2nd place trophy.
