Texas Invitational saw a couple Viper vs 1500 hpLambo videos posted to Youtube. First an 1100 hp GTS

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHCJGlDTZ9Q&sns=fb

then a Yellow 1300hp  GTS

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5gta2skjHM&sns=fb

The second video says he was running 169mph across the finish line.

At first I thought it was a half mile race since my TT GTS went 176mph in the half mle while RSI's TT1000hp went 168mph.  Then I noticed that the run was a rolling start ... They shifted into second gear and were halfway through second which would be about 80mph with those tall tires.  Certainly different that they got to do a burnout, then a looong rolling 80mph start ...  must be a new approach for a quartermile.  Different for certain.

The UGR 1500whp Lambo I raced at Ely Nv went 200mph for a standing halfmile with no roll, not tire warm up.  On pump gas (1100whp?) I ran 176mph and got second place.  RSI TT1000 went 168mph for third place.

I beat many TT Lambos at Race the Base and most were rated about 750 - 800whp.  Two were rated 1400+whp and it wasn't obvous which those were since only a couple Lambos were faster than my 720whp GTS.  My supercharged GTS went 176mph in the standing mile (no burnouts, no rolling ...)  I think that the AWD of the Lambos hurts their top end performance drastically.

Well I was over 200mph a couple times ... but not allowed to joint the 200mph club because I was too much faster than the 200mph without the ( ) on my front tires and no dual zone fire extinguisher ...  and probably a Han's device ...

Tires were a mistake (KDWs instead of PS2s).  The other two are $500 each (plus another $60-100 for the Hans straps).

I think the SRT10 truck set the world fastest stock pickup truck speed at 151mph (or 155mph?) at the Chrysler proving grounds...  You were close.

When I was young and foolish once I passed a mile long line up of bumper to bumper traffic at 155mph in a 69 GTX (yup, I survived).  Once I tested a Full chassis drag car I built on the freeway about 2am and went 160mph on wrinkle slicks.  I built a 440 Mirada and drove it at 150mph (rural Mtn road) to show my son in law how smooth the suspension was.  Best ride was my supercharged GTS at PIR, drifting out of the big corner about 90mph onto the front straight and getting to about 160mph with JonB riding shotgun/instructor.

215mph & 195mph weren't all that exciting where there's no corners ... :D
