How to post pics,

Go to your host Putfile.com or www.imageshack.us.   Click on "Browse", clock through you computer files until you find the stored pic you wish to post, double click or click "open" to get it started to the site.  If you've joined and are logged in you can add "tags" for search engines.  If you're a visitor you merely add your email address in the slot of the same position.  After that's done then click "Upload options/resizing" and click "800x600" in the drop down menu.  Now you want to "click NO" from the post ad? drop down menu.  After loading the page will change and show a thunbnail in the box and you want to highlight "Forum code" box, then right click and choose "copy" from the drop down menu.  Now that you've got the url loaded (copied to clipboard) you can close the window and left click where you want to place the photo, then right click and choose "Paste".

If using imageshack.us and an extra line saying "uploaded with imageshack" and code, it's more polite to delete that line (spam),

Although the text/code will show up ... the picture will download to the page once your reply loads!    :driving:

You mean www.picasa.com?  I might try that.  www.Imageshack.us and vista don't like each other much and now it want me to shrink all my pics to under 5Mp.

I have been using photobucket for a long time, same concept...once you create your albums, you just go to the picture you want to bring over, highlight the [img] link below the picture (CTRL C)....then in the body of your post here hold down (CTRL V).

Here is a quick tutorial for posting pics from Picasa

1. log in to Picasa
2. create an album (if you don't already have one you want to put pics in)
3. go up to the upload button and select the album you want to save your pic in
4. browse your computer for the pic you want to upload (you can do 5 at a time) and then hit 'start upload'
5. it should take you back to the album and you can click on your pic
6. to the right of the pic should say 'link to this photo', click there
7. under that will bring up some more options, first check the 'image only (no link)' box
8. now select the size of pic you want to post, usually medium is good, but large is better for posting nice pics or ones you want big with lots of detail
9. once you have selected your size, copy the link in 'embed image'
10. come back here in your post and click the 'insert image' button above the smilies, which will give you this: [image][/image] (but just img)
11. paste your link in between the [image] and [/image]
12. preview your post to make sure it linked your pic and then hit 'post'

Its that easy :D

If you do it via imageshack.us which I always use make sure to copy the forum link which will look like:
Quote
[URL/=http://img715.imageshack.us/i/americanracingtech.jpg/][IMG/]http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/601/americanracingtech.jpg[/img]

Uploaded with [URL/=http://imageshack.us]ImageShack.us

Now from there you will only keep the text part starting with , this will get rid of the spam...

So I think I may have been banned from www.imageshack.us for overuse?  I created a www.picasa.com account as per Tim's (BOTTLEFED) instructions and this is working.

Guess I certainly won't recommend Imageshack.us any longer.  Vista often thinks that imageshack.us is a virus or maliscious (advertising) program.  That it no longer works for me could be why.

Anyway, I'll be using Picasa for webhosting from now on.
