There is 3 ways to load/post pics.  All listed in the FAQ thread.  I use the lincsat for hosting but I no longer recommend them.

Being a 96/97 some of the stock wheels are Forged and some (all of the 96s and some 97s) are cast and have a tendency to crack under race conditions so those ones would be best to replace.

I'm starting to concur with you as far as the aftermarket wheels go.  My HREs are nearly the same weight as the stock heavy 2001 wheels.  One of my HREs BENT driving over a cattleguard last May and one of the caps FELL OFF going around a corner.  Should have been easy to replace but it isn't.

I am buying some 18/19" Gen 3 5 spokes for the purpose of raising my gear ratio on the TT GTS because of it's .75 OD sixth gear ratio.  There is a 27.5" tall street tire available for 19" rims whereas only 26" tires are avialable for 18"

Your stock wheels are (unfortunately) 17" and have less performance than the 18" as well as less tire selection.  I'd suggest upgrading to forged 18" wheels.  I LOVE my clear coated Billet Forgeline VR1 wheels.  Being a Billet 1 pc wheel they are no longer made, but they were the lightest I've ever weighed and seem to be strong as well as polished and clear coated making them maintenance free, instead of stained and corrossion suseptable like my HREs.  No repolishing ($125 plus tire change and rebalancing) required for the VR1s!!! :idk:
