True Ted, but if you really like the way that the stock five star looks on your GTS you can get a set of the same wheels off of 98. Same look but they were all forged in 98.

I think I have a set of those laying around the garage..... :D

I certainly wouldn't call the later Gen 2 wheels "5 star".  They're heavy and I have my 14 x 28" Hoosier R6s (rears) mounted so that I have an increase of 20mph over my 26" tires.

I don't like the looks.  Mine have only a couple thousand miles on the front original 2001 tires and rims.

I'd love to sell them to a museum with the PS1s that look like brand new!!!.  Wouldn't want to drive on them much unless it was a long highway trip.  I also thought about using the fronts on the rear for drifting ...  I bet they'e be fantastic for drift.  Might make another burn out movie doing that one day.  Joe and I did some parking lot burnouts, donuts etc last year.

I'm not talking about the later gen2 wheel (the 18"). Im talking about the wheel used in 1998 that looks exactly like the 96/97 wheel but was built better.

Gonna get the wheels chromed soon. Can't make up my mind on new wheels but for some reason I like the stock ones :idk:

I've got a set of 18/19 Gen 3 10 spokes that would be perfect for chroming.  some curb rash that could easily be repaired.  pics avail upon request.  asking $800 w/tires,  they're not mine, Im selling for same guy I sold the 17's for.  He been offered $400, but I bet he'd take 600.   :P

The later 97s were also forged.  earlier were cast.  Why would anyone want 17" wheels?

18" are the best and the size of the most commone racing tires (Land speed tires are only made in 15" and 18")  19" (even the 10 spokes) are good for a higher gear ratio.  Great for increasing your gear ratio (which is what I need) for the street tires, but they increase your center of gravity because they are taller.  If the car has stock hp then the 19" will slow the car down.

I was offered some10 spokes but turned them down because they'd need to be in perfect shape as I intend the street tires to be for car shows, mile events and driving.

Previous owner upgraded to the forged and there is no weld bead inside so I am told this is true. I like the sidewinder acr's but the are hard to find used an for the price new I might as well buy some HRE's or something.

Perhaps this should be in a wheel thread?

I've been on there the last few days and havn't seen that one.  Their VCA Lee Doom thread is over 42 pages long, but several of us have managed to have all the perrtinent information posted on out 3 pages here.  Who hates and several repeats aren't needed here.

I was getting tons of emails about this, but now it seems that my emails are being diverted ...  so I've been collecting info from facebook and adding any info from VA that is relevant.
