The old Jeep SRT was impressive when I drove one.  The new one being faster should translate to "More Fun."   :2thumbsup:

Actually no. The new Jeep is without a doubt capable of "faster" laptimes on a track. The old one is "quicker" and has more top speed. New one is heavier with all the new fancy stuff.

My bestest buddy John has an SRT Jeep... Supercharged... its a screaming machine...

When ever I get a chance I go over to play cars, and we rarely take the SRT out even though it's an "E" ticket ride... :idk: :idk:
We have too much fun with the other toys in his garage... AND it's Johns DD so maybe it doesn't seem that special to him...

From a dead stop, smashing the throttle to the floor is unreal... John & Lyle Larson took it to a drag, damn thing was beating Vipers left and right...  :headscratch: That beast just hooks n goes...

JonB made comments about the Jeep SRTs at the track during SRT test drives.  Guess the Jeep was more popular than the 300s and Challengers?

At VOI 9, we had an SRT experience... It was so funny... The Dodge people in charge kept saying... This is lead / follow... DO NOT TRY TO PASS THE JEEP!

After the first car, we all realized no freaking way any of us could catch the Jeep!

At VOI 9 all I got was the SRT Caliber.  We/I drove my Sapphire GTS around the track through the trees and drifted past the creek on the backside ...  The instructor was quick as he didn't drift around that corner in front of me.  We were follosing the same line and speed.  The other Vipers were well behind us ...   :D  I bought PS2s after that.

6,000miles we drove to and from Detroit.

I like the variable transmission/suspension settings.  You can dial up your "mood".  The track setting has virtually no body roll.  Biggest fear is how long it will take me to learn all the new computer functions, including launch control.

Somehow I'll manage!  8)

420 Hp in 6.1 ltr Jeep. 425 Hp in 6.1 ltr cars.

I put 700 miles on my 2006 Jeep SRT8 for break in miles (had 11 miles when I picked it up at dealer), then hit 168 mph in my 100% stock Jeep while racing a friends Porsche Cayenne. The 6.1's were drag & gearing limited to approx 170 mph. The new one tops out at 158-160 and is slower to 60 by about 2 tenths.

Had a custom exhaust built so I could tow with it. I'll dig up some pic's of my Reese 5000lb hitch.  I towed my 21' jetboat through Houston rush hour traffic in high humidity and 100+ temps and never had a problem.
