We were there. Road America is only 4 hours from us.  We've been going there off and on since the CAN-AM races in 1969.  The track was wet for the beginning of the GT race, but dried nicely.  Several cautions marred the Vipers from beating up the Corvettes. As I remember it...except for one stretch of time when Corvette led for several laps...the #91 Viper seemed to be continually widening the gap between them. ...and then a caution would bunch them up again.   Hard to say what would have happened without the last caution as the #91 Viper made to the finish line on fumes.... having been under a caution flag for the last 2-3 laps.  The Viper pit team was a bit slower than the the Corvette team...at least the one pit stop we watched...by a good 5 seconds.  Part of that being used to purdy up the right rear bumper of the #93 car.

I left a couple snake bites in celebration on the Road America access roads as we exited.

The Delta Wing car was a lot of fun to watch!  Very cool I thought. The 1st driver, Katherine Legge easily held her own, and advanced to the lead for several laps, in her stint at the wheel.  The P1 cars, like the Delta, were running from 7-13 seconds faster the the GT class.

The delta wing being the triangular car with the two close together front steering tires?

Thanks for posting Steve.  Good pic.

Well, I don't have the proof.  BUT, when Viper went to a 19" tire in 2003 and didn't tell Michelin, I ended up with 6 sets of rears at an average shipped price of about $149 each over the course of that summer.  For the next 6 years, I burned off a set of rears per summer season.....and I don't drag race  :D   I guess you'll just have to take my word for it.

RA is a great track to walk around...many different vantage points and you can park your car right in there.  We were parked by turn 7.  We head out from there
