Although I would be fine driving my Vipers around, it's getting cold and my cousin's Husband spun out on black ice and rolled his GM pickup driving through fog and hit Black Ice.  While the Fire/Rescue truck was parked at the scene it was hit by a tourist driving too fast for the fog.  I took a sneaky Pete shot of frost on the GTSs hood and now it's put away, disabled and parked in the garage for the winter.  Yesterday I installed the ice radials on my Stealth TT AWD.  1 tire was bald on the inside so I bought a new one, went out to the garage and changed the tires on that rim.  I have a MANUAL tire changer that I bolted to the floor.  It is also a heck of an exercise machine.

But it works and I didn't even need to explode ether to seat the tires to the rim.

I don't mind the snow, wish I was still healthy enough to ski, kind of made my winters.  I think some of my more spectacular crashes finally caught up with me

1" snow and although it gets 60 during the day, it's 20F at night.

3.5" here so far...2" under normal ;).  Haven't seen 60 in a while.   Yesterday's high was 35F.  18F yesterday morning.  The salt trucks have already been around. Car stuff is done

Steve, sounds like you win the cold trophy.

Jeff rain sucks but it's the temp that makes the difference between snow rain and ice.  My cousin's husband spun in fog on black ice and rolled his pickup.  Lucky he had only minor injuries

Not a desirable trophy anymore for us.

You touched on the reason we've already seen salt here

...Freezing rain/sleet/snow...and the ground not froze yet.

Started snowmobiling around 1964-65....quit about 6-7 yrs ago.   The good thing about living here was that we never had to trailer anywhere...never owned a trailer.  Always left right from our house.  The bad thing was too many crazy idiots on the trail system!  No fun anymore.  Don't miss it at all.  40 year chapter of life put to bed.

That being said......it's big business around here!

Where abouts do you live Steve?
We have a 8 hour drive to get to Valemount where we normally ride, or 9 hours to Revelstoke from Lloydminster where we live.
