What do you think?  At Race the Base Top Speed Challenge last year the modified Ferrari Enzo beat out all Challengers for top speed on the near 3 miles strip with a speed of 367kph.   The 900rwhp FGT couldn't keep up (although he got second) and the 1,000rwhp Heffner Lambo couldn't catch the Ferrari.

Here's the link to Zahir Rahan speaking on the 2012 Race the Base Top Speed Challenge   NEWS 1 JUNE 20.wmv

Dodge was represented by a crate motor'd 70 Hemi GTX.  Stock Vipers 99 GTS, 2008 SRT10 and Voodoo ACR didn't do well as they couldn't make the 300kph challenge.  Louie Gierstorfer's Paxton supercharged 2003 SRT10 did make the cut at 307kph and Daryl Weflen's n/a land speed record holder GTS managed a respectable 316kph. :D

Ferrari and several European manufacturers were in attendence to see how their products rated.  A well respected European sportscar Mag did a 10 page spread and I wrote the Race the Base story   http://vipernation.com/?p=665  :2thumbsup:

Surely some of our 2000rwhp TT Vipers would like to own that title?  If Zahir is building a new car I expect it will have Ferrari factory (probably unofficial) backing.  Hmmm, now that I think about it ... I guess Fiat would prefer their Ferrari beat their Viper?   :headscratch:

Simms mentioned an interest in this event so I'll PM him.

Dan I'm presuming you\d like a shot at a World/North America top speed record?

Local Cdn tuner I believe.  Probably Zahir (ZR Auto) in Calgary since I think that nearly all the modified exotics there were from his shop - except the Hefner 1000TT Lambo (which I assume he maintains).

Zahir dipped his Enzo in the Atlantic while running the Targa Rally in Newfoundland.  Ralph Gilles is also in that rally, although I heard nothing on how he or the SRT team did during the NFL Targa Rally.

 >:(

No one wants to beat out the "World's Fastest Ferrari" except the Ford GT?

OK,  :idk:  I'm buying a 1000rwhp 93 octane pump gas Viper (low boost).  With Race Gas and low boost this GTS makes about 1200rwhp and race gas & high boost makes 1500rwhp.

Guess I'll step up for the Viper World and see if I can't beat the World's Fastest Ferrari for us.

Entry donation ... $3,000.  Spoke to ART and they are thinking about entering their 1800rwhp+ Ballista Viper.  140.9mph world's fastest street car at the Texas Mile.

ART also said that they'd support MY car at the event.  At my cost of $2-3,000 before the $3K entry I think this event is too rich for my wallet.  Without a partial sponsorship I think I'll pass this time.   :headscratch:  If American Racing Technologies does attend I'll do the trip and support them.  I attended as Media with press credentails last event.  Last event the Viper world was represented by stock 99 GTS, stock Voodoo ACR, a stock 08 SRT10, Oreca style GTS and Louie G's 665rwhp 03 SRT10.  The 2 modified Vipers did make the top 17 that managed over 180mph in the 1.8 mi. but about 40kph below the top speed.

Cold Lake/Bonnieville cities are about 850 miles from here.  Last year the fastest Viper (mine) was parked outside the gate.  Appreciate your offer to drive Disturbed.  Coming along with ART's monster 06 coupe?  Or ... buy my entry fee?

And ...   draft of preview video

https://rcpt.yousendit.com/1356488552/1f2754db0759e45ac04a78ff46a6d195

Darryl's Viper "made the cut"  Glad to see that the Viper is included in these "exotic" supercar ads.  The Viper Nation was represented by 3 stock Vipers and 2 x 650rwhp Vipers.

Enjoy the video ...

   OK.

There were 4 ZR1s at the last event, none specatular.  Steve Eiserman of Davenport Motorpsorts ran his 800rwhp TT Z06 and was one of the fastest 10 or 15 cars.  He's a selfproffessed "bad driver" and told me at the banquet that when he took it easy (short shifted) during the acutioned Passenger run, his car was actually much faster than the 332kph he went while being timed.

Recently I saw that Zahire had been beat by a Saleen S7 and his car had a few more modifications done to it in Germany.  Somehow I don't think anything less than a Lingenfelter 1100hp TT vette has much chance?  I'm going to burnoff a set of old tires for the burnout comp and try old tires on the drifting comp.  Good tires and I'll be needing to up my trans gears for this event.  A .6 sixth gear would give me a 159mph top speed.  I could run 28" road racing tires for a higher top speed.

I see that Hennessey is advertising and two of his 1500 hp Lambos are coming ...

Hennessey's car are not coming.  My TT will be one of the faster cars at the meet, but I'm seraching for 29-30" high speed tires so that I can have a top speed higher than 218mph.  Willowbrook Chrysler has sponsored my entry fee so Dodge will have at least 4 cars there ...

I posted pics and results of 2012 RacetheBase.com on a thread in the All Brand Events Board.

My TT wasn't ready in time to go ass kickin' so I took my Roe Racing supercharged GTS instead.  Nicer because I drove it 800+ miles there.  Turned out to
be a battle with some rain which really helped me with the wet drifting event and didn't matter too much in the mini road Course.  Being the Premier North American Air Defence Base for Northern and Western Canada  they just used a few Jets to afterburn dry the Tarmac for the standing mile event and the Ultimate Challenge event was held in the afternoon.

Although I did have the fastest Dodge there, I was only 9th fastest out of the 70+ supercars.  Because of my driving skills (?) and my high points in the drift and the Road Course I finished in second place in the Modified Supercar Class!  Probably 65% of the car there were trailered or transported to the event.

2nd place!!!   :D  At the 3500' altitude I only ran a standing mile at 176mph and 195mph in the Ultimate Speed Challenge.  Both were easy passes because I don't beat up my cars (much) and I keep the risk low for breakage and bumping things.  Driving my backup Viper I had only intended to "put on a show" because Willowbrook Chrysler had sponsored my entry fee.  I didn't think I had any chance to win ... but I drove to impress for Dodge and Viper owners.
