Welcome to The Viper Garage
A paramount collection of Dodge Viper owners and enthusiasts to form a more supportive and informative community

I want to welcome all the people that have joined the site and have trust that this idea will thrive here in the Viper community.  I want to just give a brief summary of who is involved here and why we chose to create these forums.  I have talked with some of you personally through emails/PMs, so you have some thoughts on what is going on.  But most of you have joined us out of faith, curiosity, or need for something new.

First, I will let you know, the people running this site are not professional computer information specialists.  We are Viper enthusiasts just like you.  We have jobs and lives and families that take our time.  This website is very important to us, but we are not getting paid, nor is this a career path for us.  We are doing this to benefit the Viper community and help promote the hobby.

Here is a little history behind how this idea got started.  I bought my 97 GTS over three years ago and ever since I joined the two main forums available, I have been dissatisfied with the way they were run.  I never really thought about starting my own forum to replace them (and I still don’t want that), just to help make them better and to serve the purpose of an automotive site better.  I have always tried to give back to the forums and encourage new technical discussions.
Jump ahead to VOI11 this past October.  I had a great time and it renewed my faith that the Viper community really does come together and share a bond in these cars.  I met Ted and, although we had talked many times on the forums and PMs, we knew we shared a common goal.  That goal is to build on this hobby and advance the Viper community in a way that has currently gone astray.
Soon after VOI, Ted was banned for life from the VCA.  It was devastating news to him and was not the type of path he wanted to take in his hobby.  When he told me about how hurt and disappointed he was about the situation, I felt there was no way we could lose someone with such passion and charisma in this tiny, close-knit community.  I causally mentioned we should start our own site and produce something everyone could take advantage of.  The idea took off from there... fast.  Ted and I decided to get to the root of the problem with the previous forums and start with the primary purpose of an automotive forum.  We would build it around the aspect of the forums we know and love best, technical discussions.
I talked to a friend that I help moderate his forum.  Shep is our only in-house computer “geek” and has developed his own forums and websites, and works in the computer software industry.  I asked him how to go about setting up an automotive forum.  He said it is a lot of work, but easy to start.  Before I knew it, we had a website and a blank forum.
Ted and I knew we needed someone with connections and experience in Viper forums, so he contacted Leslie.  With years of experience on the Viper forums and racing, she has the knowledge and adjudication skills to help design a successful site for the enthusiasts and run it accordingly.  Then Ted brought up another name to add to our team, Kala.  Kala brings computer and business expertise to the site that will be crucial to the future advancement of this site.
The people behind these forums have varied backgrounds and interests in the Viper nation, but we all share an excitement and commitment to making this new forum something that will break this community out of the rut it is in and provide the aspect that is lacking: knowledgeable technical support and information.

Well actually I wasn't banned for life.  I thought that was what I read, but I was "suspended indefinitely".

Hoping to be invited to rejoin next year, but we'll see what happens.

Tim is correct that we both help with knowledge and some database, help with How-tos and advice.  One of the worset things you can do is spend huge bucks on modifications and parts that might not have been what you wanted, but didn't know that at the time.  We're hoping to help prevent those kind of mistakes for you because of our combined experience and the help of other Viper enthusiasts and experts.

Before finally picking supercharged Vipers as my #1 choice in the closest to PERFECT automotive platform I built race, show and Prostreet cars for a living.  I did custom bodywork, head porting engine building, paint, chassis and did everything (except some of the mahine work) myself.

Leslie is a Certified High Performance Driving Instructor and worked as a Moderator for several Auto forums.  Kala is and enigma and turns out she knows more about more eveytime I speak with her!

Right now I'm driving a 40 Ton Terex Rock Truck working to rebuild the Bella Coola Disaster area.  (Stream beds and Salmon spawning beds as well as working on the bridges.  Long hours and out of town so I may be busy for a little while, please have patience.

Hope you get some help from our site.

No Chip, I can't be banned from here, lol.

OK I guess Tim was right and the vca site says "Banned for life".  Not what they told me, last I heard it was suspension past this president's term.  Maybe things have changed?

5 words huh, thats tough but here's my understanding:

"a picture paints 1000 words"
 1     2        3       4      5

I think the picture was of a covered GTS (and not the only one), but one guy posted that he thought it was a VW Beetle, lol!  I was asked not to talk about it so I'm being quiet.

It's good to have friends and I appreciate the kind words from you guys! ;D ;)  and you guys choke me up  :'(

Ted

Isn't the president now the same as last year..........for all practical purposes?     And then...couldn't the same musical chairs be played over again?
