Out in the garage working on my TT GTS.

Found oil on the bottom of my car so I'll be trying to find where that's coming from.  The RF Penske shock adjusting collar is loose.  Air filter is disconnected from intake tube.  Starting repolish of HRE wheels (needing new cap and tire air stem) model?

Here's the wastegate right under the large turbo.

Tucked away under the heater nicely

The engine in my GTS was originally a Greg Good engine.  It got melted down and the block, head and piston needed repair and replacment.  Classic Jaguar got that job because of their welding skills (?).  Greg Good send me a few more specs on the engine (comp cam 232 ... and the link to my engine fix/repair/replace gallery.  Thanks Greg!

Here's some pics of how I bought this car from Houston.  Fastest street car there.

I think I'll install the HREs and NEW BFG KDW2s onto my (4 sale) Sapphire 720rwhp GTS.  The TT really needs ever bit of traction I can find.  Although drag radials would be better ... I was told that the Pilot Sport cups do not have better traction for acceleration so I'll be installing PS2s from the Sapphire GTS.  The VR1s already have the Tire Temp and Pressure Monitoring System installed and it'll only take me a short while to instal the transceiver and control guage into the TT.  The TTPMS really saves me a ton of work checking the tire pressures everytime I get gas and each time I start my car.

I noticed that one of my air filters wasn't on the intake pipe anylonger so I removed it from the car.  Seems that it was hit by something while hanging under the car ...

Guess I'll be needing a new one.  Both the filters were good when I left Texas (Kirk got the car up on a hoist for me to look at).

K&N did send me a reply with a request for more info...

Their response was quick.

Throughout the day I finally got all 4 wheels polished.  I greased the Ball joints and wiped the A arms, shocks, springs, swaybars and brake calipers sparkling clean.  Since I am the only guy that I know that installed the Anti-toe stiffener brackets ... I think I'll take them out of the Sapphire GTS and install them into the Black TT GTS.  Inspection shows that all my swaybar link rod bushings are toast and need replacing.  One of the front Penske shocks was missing one of the recessed lock screws and the other was loose - the adjusting collar spun easily by hand.  I ajusted the angle of a vacuum line fitting to minimize the pinch that was in the rubber line.  There is a lot brake pad material left.  I moved the oxy sensor connectors from being pinched against the frame by the airfilters to being zap strapped to the top of the frame rail.  I studied the turbo plumbing and it's complicated with the exhaust running beside the intake pipe and close to the compressor going to the turbine.  Thinking an aluminium shield might cut down on the intake heat.

It's a bad habit I have Sheldon,   :hayes:  Back in the 'old days' when I lived in Edmonton I spent over a month porting my 440 heads with a drill ...

When the wife came home from the store she did mention that I have 3 shops outside and another at another yard we own.  I told her that I like to spend quality time "with her" and do all the dirty work outside in the shop.   :D

It also happens to be MY house.

I never knew you lived in Edmonton. How long ago was that? That's only 2.5 hours from us in Lloydminster!
I like to try and convince my wife of "stuff" too! I needed the viper so we could spend quality time on cruise nights together... new boat to enjoy more time with family and friends.. stuff like that hahaha

I said Òld Days` Sheldon ...   like 1978,79.  Kicked butt there.  Raced in 3 Int. Invitational races at EIR and placed on the Podium every time.

The Old Days when you coul make 20 runs in a night.  Labbatts (Beer corp.) used to send out a crew and provide Friday night drags with FREE Burgers and Beer all night.  Gov made it a law that liquor companies aren`t allowed to promote Autosports so ...  Plus the`dregs`of society would come to our drag strip and scoop the Beer until they`d stolen a dozen or two and then they`d either get drunk or take off (with our free beer) to some party.  Kinda ruined it for everyone.  None of the car guys drank much and the Burgers were the Best.  Don`t think anyone does that anymore ...   :'(

We`d go street racing and when the Beer showed up, we`d leave.

I cleaned the wheels quickly, installed new airfilter, added a wire for the Daytime Running Lights and switched the Duster for the TT GTS in my enclosed trailer.  The before going to bed last night, I did an oil change in the Hemi.  It was 0F when I finished up and went to bed about 2am.  Up at 6:30am and made coffee while pickup ran for about 10 minutes to warm up.  Off to town.

I had 2 appoinments in town before noon so I left at 6:30 am and drove with more than 50% dangerous ice, slippin and slidin.  Got there about 10:30(200 miles), opened trailer ... GTS wouldn't even fire so we pushed it into the shop.  Left it for 3 hrs ... the mechanic said he wouldn't do the safety insp if it didn't start.  After a few hours - no start so I asked for a battery charger and he hooked that up.  another couple hours and he did the Fed inspec.  BUT first I had to go find an internet that would allow me acess to my email to get the case # or he wouldn't do the Fedewral paperwork.  So I went to the Arctic Cat Dealer (friend) Gordo and used their internet to find the email and phone Canadian Tire with the case #.  I went back to CT and the car started no problem???   So afterwards they were closing, I paid and he told me that I had to fax the Form 1, the safety recal sheet and the Texas registration so he could complete the paperwork.

Arrgh.  even slipperier on the way home.  Ice covering the highway and touching the throttle would make the truck spin sideways unless I had it in 4x4.  I did only 70kph most of the way.  We drove to our store and unloaded the snow sliders, Xmas gifts and some veggies Deana bought it town and then we started homeward.  Got about 3 miles from the store (10 from home) and the F***king trailer tire flew apart!  Dragged it home.  Gonna see if the car will start tomorrow and then look for a new tire.

Faxed paperwork and called them.  Everyting is good there, approvals emailed to the Feds.

Put Bat charger on the TT and changed the tire.  Think I'll buy a set of new CAR tires instead of junko Trailer tires next time.  Put a heater in the trailer to warm stuff up before switching Duster and Viper around again.

Midnight ... Got 'er done Spent most of the day working on GTS inside trailer.  Wouldn't start.  Plugs were wet.  Pulled all the plugs out and they were sooted up.  Engine shot gas out of cylinders when I spun it over without plugs.  Installed a set of old plugs from my Sapphire GTS and the beast fired up and purrrred right away.  Ran as nice as if it was back in Texas!  Duster sure drives well on the ice.  Viper not so good, even with new KDW2s.  Cold didn't seem to make any difference to the Viper.  I think that the TT probably has COLD plugs and that's why I needed to change them.  I had a check engine light (with AEM?) until I changed the plugs and then it disappeared ...  Plugged in my OBDII reader and it said NO DATA.  Guess I'm needing to buy a hookup connector cable for my laptop AEM.

Temps were about freezing today and I fired up my propane portable heater and got some heat going then detailed all the dust off my TT.  Fired it up and moved it outside because I was porting my set of Gen 3 heads.  didn't want to cover my GTS with aluminium filings/grindings.  Fired up quickly and warmed up fast.  Backed out of shop and parked in snow covered yard.  BFG KDW worked OK as my snowtires.

I parked my conservative pump gas 1000hp Viper beside my 1000cc Mountain sled ...

Windshield has a sticker for 190mph class.  I believe that the car went 199mph that day. This car has gone 212mph in the Texas mile.
