Title: 18" Gen2 wheels 2 fronts
Post by: uvbnbit on November 12, 2010, 10:25:14 AM
I bought a set and i didn't need these two.  I'll have to check but I'm pretty sure they are the fronts.  I'll also be up front with you and say they're a bit banged up from track use.  They are definitely true and can be polished up or painted (I have a wheel repair business if that matters  ;) ).  The person I bought them from used them on the track, and as you can see, the center bore has been honed out some?? (I have no idea why, neither did he-maybe to accommodate larger aftermarket hub? ???). They seem to be OK though.  Might make a good base for bar stool too? [e]92[/e]

Just got back from VOI and getting caught up.  Yes, I'll measure the outer bore.  From what I remember, the inner bore was not touched.  I'll double check that too.  Give me a few days to get back in swing of things.

DANG!  I forgot all about this.  Sorry dude. Outer bore is 2 13/16" diameter.  inner bore has not been touched. It looks about a 1/16" larger.

I just picked up a set of Gen2 17's and Gen 3 wheels/tires last night from ex-member that just went thru a divorce (4.5yrs...whew).  He'd like $1200 for either set.  I'll be posting pics/tire specs later too.

I don't know exactly what shipping would be, but typically when I ship wheels out, it's usually in the $28-$34 each range.
$50 each on the wheels.  You're probably zone 4/5 from me. I'm just outside of nashville. I should have some extra boxes/packing, so no extra charge there.
Wanna figure $82 each?
(on the wheels from original post, not new ones I am selling for someone else)

Sorry.  No paypal here.  Cashier ck/money order preferably.  I think some others on here (Ted, specifically, would vouch for me).  I'll get boxed up so be they be ready to ship when I get payment.  I PM you my address.

I'll say great wonderful things about Chip!  Sold me a bra (not his wife's) and being a typical car guy it was an honest deal and he don't do Paypal.  :D

Chip was also a VCA regional pres when it was a good club.  Even spoke his mind without worrying about repercutions of honesty ...can't beat that.

wow, that's a great price!

Like I initially posted, they aren't pretty from track use, but definitely true.
Re-checked them yesterday to be sure, runout on 1 was .008" the other was .015".  Viper wheel tolerance is .026" (I think). Industry standard on aluminum wheels is .030".  I shoot for .010"-.015" when straightening. :D

Now I need to figure out why PB keeps removing my pics from posts
Leslie, any ideas?

They did that a lot on the old VCA forums so I always used imageshack.us    Tim used Picassa

for wheels straightening, i have SSR 6 spoke that is a bit egg shaped on the inner barrel, is that any thing you can fix?  a tire beads up on it, but its going to shake for sure  18x11

If it holds air I should.  What caused bend----pot hole?  If caused by lateral hit and/or accident, sometimes those are not repairable.  front and rear of wheel are knocked off "hub-center" and has a wobble to it.  Rare, but it happens.  Front right wheel probably  :hayes:.   Can you spin it on the car and see what it does? if it just dips at bend, should be able to true that up.  I be glad to see what I could do with it if you want to ship it to me.  If I can't fix it, you're only out shipping charge.  :headscratch:
