I bought a 2000 manual.  I bought a '99 before that.  Now I need to get ahold of Sheldon and get him to send me the '99 manual for the TT GTS I have and I'll send him the 2000 manual I have for his GTS ACR ...

Haha, I bought them both.  The 2000 manual is the one I bought from you I think.  I had a 99 and a 2000.  Since the car I kept was a 2001 I kept the 2000 manual and gave him the 99 shop manual with the car when he bought it.  Now that I bought a 99 and am selling my 2001 ...

I find the Viper Chassis manuals invaluable.  Even owners should buy the manuals so the mechanics can see what they need to do when repairing their Vipers.  Not a lot of people know a Viper throughout, that's why the gooks are several inches thick ...  And mechanics are just mechanics.  We had one burn the transmission out of an Escape to see if it worked ...  It had a computer error.  A Dodge Mechanic told me that the o2 sensor in our pickup was OK but there was a miniscule exhaust leak causing the 2 CEL codes.  I added a clamp to the exh pipe and that fixed nothing.  I pulled the exhaust and replaced the oxy sensor and THAT fixed it.  They're just people.  Now that our older Vipers are becoming 'dated' there are less and less mechanics that know our cars.  Some mechanics used to get the specific Viper training and now the new training for some Viper Techs will be the Gen 5.  Some people like JonB and Chuck Tator continue to stay up on ALL Vipers, but there are fewer Viper Techs each year.  Tuners are going to become the knowledge base as the Manufacturers interest fades in the older Generations.   Hence buying a shop manual once the Dealers get rid of them is an excellent idea.
