Since Jeff was able to come from SLC to Ely for the event I asked and received a Press Pass for him.  We'll do better next time (Tim Anglin and Jeff used my Canon and took a couple pics while was racing) with a better plan due to our experience this time.  Jeff got hundreds of pics that we wouldn't have had without him there.  It was unfortunate that Jeff couldn't make the Awards ceremony and the Press Banquet ... but such is life.

We did have a good time.  With 300-450 people attending these events its similar to a smaller VOI (without the valued Chrysler employees).  With all the Parade, Caravan, banquets, car show, tech and registration, mile and Half mile shootout, then the Rally and award ceremony it's actually MORE intense than VOIs.  Instead of a 21 sec 'AutoX' there is the Shootouts etc.  Actual competitions where I can kick ass on Corvettes.  I think that the VOIs should have had a smal group of Corvette guys for us to compete against for fun.  The Wash VCA invited the Corvette club (which included the National vette autoX champ) that Taillights is still trying to beat.   :2thumbsup:  As we found out in the Mile shootout I also lost fastest to a Pro race GM with my "slow" street Viper.   :idk:   :D

No.  The thousands it cost me for rings, bearings, gaskets and shipping and then covering all the expenses for SSCC meant I spent it all.  My next 'bill' is for the Salt tires and perhaps some rims.

I have a Palm Desert trip in the works for the Fatherinlaw and if the MM is at that time I'll drive the 3 hours (?) to Mojave and see you there?

My plans are to buy the other stuft required for the Salt lake run with my TT Viper.   Scattershield took all summer but it is finally here.  I need a dual zone fire ext., a parachute (?) and may have to cutom bild my own diff ... but there may be a tranny avail instead ...  $2000 racing suit, gloves and shoes etc.  There are a lot of small things like the liquid metal for the firewall, mounting bolts for the 1" steel plates that I need to add for traction and safety in case of a 240mph spin out - which I've been told is a real possibility.

Still looking for a sponsor so that the extra financials so I could concentrate on the build and upgrades ...

That's a long way off Jeff.  Adrln was halfway there couple weeks ago and turned around because it's a Salt Lake again.  That would suck if it happened the next year as well.
