Revealed at the Detroit North American Auto Show this year (2016). I wouldn't mind if the Viper continued on as this car once Chrysler discontinues it. With only 50 cars slated to be built per year these would get all the breaks given to Lemke's Falcon and Saleen's S7 car making it possible?
Apparently the brainchild of Ben Keating ...

Why would they want to call it a Viper and carry the pricing baggage the Viper has had over the past years

I would think that it's so much better than a Viper ... but if the Viper platform is discontinued there won't be any of these cars to turn the Viper platform into.
They basically took a Gen 5, improved the suspension and brakes. Built a different carbon fiber body for it, did the upgrades Fiat disallowed for an extra 100hp. Then they made a much nicer interior.
Mot importantly if they produce under 500 cars a year they won't be required to spend the millions of Gov charges and 4 cars to destroy for crash testing and perhaps a lessening of emissions certifications or just the costs for certifications?
